My work begins with my observation of human beings. I like to highlight the female figure as a primary subject to reflect the various aspects of the human experience. I see the human body as a key to my investigation of humanity. I also incorporate symbolic objects in my work, while cultural contexts provide another important source of motivation. I develop works that engage individual perception and surroundings, looking at the relations between human sensations and their social and cultural contexts. Painting and drawing are generally my preferred mediums, but I am increasingly experimenting with diverse methods, such as sculpture, moving images, paper collage, printmaking and photography.
